According to information from the Reuters agency, the Tesla Cybertruck would not be released this year but would be postponed to 2023. A habit for the American manufacturer.
Remember, in November 2019, Tesla caused a sensation with the presentation of the Cybertruck, an electric pickup with gargantuan dimensions and a very original design. At the time, the automaker was counting on a marketing in the United States for the end of the year 2021. While we are now in 2022, the vehicle does not seem ready to leave the production lines.
And for good reason, according to information from the Reuters agency, the Cybertruck would have once again been pushed back by Tesla after an initial report providing for a release in the course of 2022. “Tesla is looking to launch initial production of its highly anticipated Cybertruck by the end of the first quarter of 2023, pushing back plans to begin production until year-end, a person familiar with the matter tells us”, explains the British agency. This new postponement would be caused in particular by changes in functionality on the vehicle in order to make it more competitive.
Tesla is accustomed to delays
The Cybertruck should not be released for at least a year, unless there is an additional postponement from the car manufacturer. In addition, as Reuters indicates, the manufacturer recently removed any mention of a delivery estimate for Cybertrucks on its website, removing references to a delivery in 2022.
It must be said that Tesla is accustomed to announcements with fanfare with many postponements in the years that follow. The Tesla Roadster was thus announced in 2017 with a release initially planned for 2020, then postponed to the end of 2021, to 2022 and now to 2023. The same goes for completely autonomous vehicles, a hobby of the manufacturer since 2016 via an option called “Fully Autonomous Driving Capability” offered on its configurator and which is still waiting.
