At the beginning of May 2022, the Cafe Socialite located rue Paul Doumer in Caen (Calvados), just across from the mall, has closed. Work is in progress before the opening of a new establishment towards the end of May: the bohemian cafe.
It is Aurélien Guyot who is at the origin of this new project. This Parisian studied in Caen. He even ran the Café Montmartre, rue Pemagnie. After a stint in real estate, he is back in Caen with his new restoration project.
Brasserie at lunchtime, tapas in the evening
The Café Bohème will be a brasserie during the day and will offer aperitifs and tapas in the evening. “We will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.,” says Aurélien. He will offer a menu with four starters/main courses/desserts, as well as a starter and a dish of the day, all homemade. “I’m taking over the staff at the Mondain café and we’ll have a cook with pastry training to offer homemade snacks in the afternoon. »
The wine list is also expanding a little more with producers from the Charente or even wines from the Loire “to offer something that changes”.
The establishment will undergo a minor facelift with a coat of paint on the walls and a change in the floors. “We want to do something quite floral”, concludes Aurélien.
