From the 3rd floor of Little Victor Hugo, Small Roof is a raw bar which takes us straight south. The decor made of wicker and greenery bathed in daylight make this place a happy spot and lots of good vibes. A good address sunny therefore, which completes our change of scenery by revealing to us a menu which gives pride of place to maritime flavors.
But what do we find in menu exactly ? Here, the seafood recipes give birth to beautiful plates to share that play on our cute sins. We can in turn fall for prawns crispy curry, an octopus carpaccio tzatziki or the deviled egg lobster accompanied by its trout eggs.
The least we can say is that the card gives us a hard time as the choice is difficult. If you too are greedy undecided, we recommend that you crack for different starters and share with your table. But be careful not to miss the Tuna Finger accompanied by their Thai sauce: a maritime version of croque, with crispy sandwich bread, melting cheese and tuna. You will love !
For lovers of octopusthe carpaccio will have something to conquer your taste buds. Just imagine a tzatziki very unctuous and refreshing on which we find melting slices of tentacles, all sprinkled with olives… and here we are transported to the edges of the Mediterranean !
To accompany this tasting, The Little Roof unveils a line of well-balanced creative cocktails that smell like holidays. The most essential is the Tonicboy, based on Mirabeau gin, H.Theoria velvet, violet liqueur, Maraschino, verjuice, and Fever Tree tonic water. Result: a refreshing floral cocktail, with just the right hint of indulgence without the violet taking over.
We will also have fallen for the Pandan Smash, composed of Distillerie de Paris carbon vodka infused with Pandan leaf, H.Theoria midi fauve liqueur, coconut syrup, fresh lemon juice, Angostura bitters, and fresh coriander. Not too sweet, subtle flavors that give us a taste for travel and always that refreshing touch, we love it.
As for the dishes, the star of the menu is the LObster Rolls along with homemade fries. This lobster sandwichwhich has become iconic, has conquered the taste buds of Parisians to such an extent that it is difficult to do without it in restaurants dedicated to the flavors of the sea. Small Roof, it is plentiful! You will also have the pleasant surprise of seeing a claw without its shell. Notice to aficionados, you should not miss it. For small eaters, know that there is also a starter version!
The sea bass tartare, on the other hand, is irresistible for the summer. Accompanied by seasonal vegetables and homemade fries, it delights the eyes as much as the taste buds! The melting flesh of the fish goes well with peas and radishes for a tasting between land and sea. When we told you that the holiday spirit reigns here, we weighed our words!
Finally comes the long-awaited moment for sweet tooths: the dessert. The Little Roof Plays it again on our indulgences by offering us in turn a guanaja chocolate for chocovores, French toast in the style of Petit Victor Hugo, profiteroles or even a Saint-Honoré. We couldn’t resist the suggestion of the day, a generous strawberry tart with a shortbread cookie. All in freshness and respecting the natural flavor of the fruit, it will have been able to bring a delicious end to this perched dinner.
