Tasty tacos, guacamole to die for and well-chilled cocktails: on the heights of the Lez Market, the Muchacha invites you to party with its roof terrace decorated in a small jungle.
It is a concentrate of Latin America, suspended on the Lez Market. At Muchacha, the 500 m rooftop2 is a small jungle of cacti, banana trees and other exotic plants, where you sit on benches with colored earthenware tiles. Inside, pampas flowers, patterned seats and neon lights with sweet messages in Spanish prolong the change of scenery. The whole, “instagramable” at will!
Tacos, empanadas, quesallidas…
But the Latino spirit is not limited to the visual, in this place created two years ago by the Bonne Compagnie team (Le Gus Kitchen By la Dune, L’Effet Mer private beach…). It is also in the plate that we travel, especially in sharing mode. On huge boards, tacos, “ahumado” salmon tartare, skewers on steaming mini-barbecues, empanadas, quesallidas. A must in Mexican gastronomy, guacamole, presented in a mortar, is to die for. We also fell in love with the tuna, cactus, coriander and pineapple ceviche.
Mezcal, tequila, pisco
In terms of drinks, red or white sangrias, beers (including the Mexican Corona) and a series of cocktails with promising names and recipes: Prohibicion (mezcal, jalapeno, hibiscus syrup), El Aldito Pomelo (tequila Don Julio Blanco, agave syrup, lime, grapefruit juice), Chacha’Mule (Pisco, lime, ginger beer).
We brunch there on Saturday and Sunday
The Muchacha is not just the “noche”! There are also lovely late mornings and early afternoons for brunch (€25), Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cooks then barter the Latin specialties (with the exception of the tacos, loyal to the post) for Benedict eggs (muffins, bacon), avocado toast and pancakes. A “niños” formula is also available (breaded chicken, patatas bravas, granola fromage blanc…).
“The Muchacha is both a tapas bar and a restaurant, where the volume increases throughout the evening. Every evening, a different DJ is on the decks from 7:30 p.m., each with their own specificity “, explains Maxime Dagneaux, Communications and Marketing Director. Online reservation, for the first, second or third service (6 p.m., 8 p.m., 10 p.m.). It is possible to reserve two slots if you wish to stay longer.
