Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Elyes Hamza announced this Wednesday, May 11, 2022, that Tunisia will increase the prices of some basic necessities, including milk, eggs and poultry, during these days.
The move comes amid protests by farmers over soaring barley prices for animal feed due to war in Ukraine and rising energy costs, Reuters reports.
“We will announce, Thursday, May 12, 2022, a revision relating to the prices of eggs, poultry and milk to ensure the profit margin for Tunisian producers”, assured the minister.
