Puy du Fou is exported to the United States with a new show

Lhe Puy du Fou lands across the Atlantic. In a press release published on Friday May 6, the amusement park announced that teams from Vendée will travel to the United States to support the creation of a new show in the country. This will be “inspired by the history of the Cherokee people”, indicates the same source.

“We are going to put our know-how at the service of a spectacular, grandiose staging, which celebrates the painful and glorious history of the Cherokee people”, explained to Agence France-Presse Nicolas de Villiers, president of Puy du Mad. Scheduled for 2024, the show will be held in the state of Tennessee, cradle of the Cherokees, within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

With an investment of “several tens of millions of dollars”, the collaboration was launched by Cherokee representatives, specifies Nicolas de Villiers. The dialogue began “a little over a year ago” and culminated in the signing of an agreement on Thursday.

The pursuit of international development

The show will stage “the story of the Cherokees who, in 1917, voluntarily engaged in the First World War, as a cry of love to America”, detailed the president of the Vendée park. In an immersive performance, spectators will follow the journey of a young Cherokee man, from Appalachia to the battlefields of Champagne.

With this new export, Le Puy du Fou continues its international development. Some time ago he had already supported the creation of performances in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In 2021, the management had even opened its first park abroad, in Spain.
