The Taste of Paris festival returns from May 12 to 15, 2022, in the magnificent setting of the Grand Palais Ephémère. A unique opportunity for lovers of gastronomy to discover the best of Parisian restaurants. It’s up to us 4 days to taste the iconic dishes of nearly forty great Parisian chefs, who will also demonstrate their talents… Producers, cooking shows, cooking classes, masterclasses and real on-site restaurants await you on the menu.

Good news for gourmands, gourmets, Sunday chefs and all those who love food! the Taste of Paris festival is back in the capital for four days of pure delight. Each year, great chefs, among the best in Paris, install their pop-up restaurants in a big festival open to all, to present their signature dishes, which can be eaten in small portions. Taste gives us an appointment this year from May 12 to 15, 2022for a new and even tastier edition.

This year again, this festival is organized at Grand Palais Éphémère at the Champ de Mars for four days of tasting and gluttony. more than one thirty chefs is announced for this seventh edition. Among them, chefs from top restaurants, starred chefs, chefs from Parisian palaces, but also pastry chefs and former participants of the show Top chef.

Presented as a gastronomic festival, Taste of Paris is much more than that: people come here to eat the best of Parisian cuisine, during lunch hours (11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and dinner (7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.). But not only !

Inside the ephemeral spot, facing the Eiffel Towerstands come to reproduce the kitchens of the restaurants with their chefs and their brigades… We are therefore entitled to demonstrations live with the big names in gastronomy, as well as a “drinks” program.

Indeed, we find in this room a whole delegation dedicated to drinks that accompany your meal. Champagne bars or at cocktails, bars at beer, to wines, to coffee or water, you may encounter many experts and their products, to complete your gastronomic visit.

This year, we must find, at Taste of Paristhe masters of the furnaces of great palaces Parisians: Amaury Bouhourschef at Le Meurice, Boris Camella and his pastry chef Matthew Carlin, chefs of the Crillon, are on the bill. You can also meet the leaders stars as Pascal Barbot and Kei Kobayashias well as names well known to fans of Top chef : Kelly Rangama, Justine Piluso, Matthias Marc, Mory Sacko or even Thomas Chisholm.

Each dish costs between €6 and €12. To feast, you must bring a prepaid card given at the entrance. The idea is then to take a dish or/and a dessert, here and there, helped by the program which presents all the dishes of the chefs, and to taste them on a table or a standing table.

First piece of advice we give you: choose your day of coming. Yes, for a few years now, Taste of Paris has offered a rotation of the chefs present. Depending on the day you choose, you meet different chefs: returning to this festival for several days therefore allows you to have a unique experience each time you visit.

Then set yourself a small budget. Don’t imagine coming empty-handed to Taste of Paris. Indeed, note that you have to pay the entrance AND the dishes that you want to taste inside. As explained above, for this you need to credit a card at the entrance, in order to be able to order at the stands. To eat well and discover the different specialties of chefs, plan at least between 25 and 40 euros per person, otherwise hello disappointment! Finally, arrive early and favor the stands you want to test at all costs, even if it means dividing to conquer better. Some restaurateurs have a lot of success but it’s quite fluid all the same.

During a little Road Taste, we were able to discover some
menus on the program for this 2022 edition. On the side of the palace of Crillon, Boris Campanella offers us this year a delicious vegetarian dish based on simmered Didier Ferreint chickpeas accompanied by chalky tomme cheese and celery juice, an amazing delight. Green asparagus from Provence with diced Burgundy trout and smoked burrata house is a crazy dish to discover absolutely.

A lot of gluttony also on the side of Kaviari Delikatessen. Between the gazpacho of peas with basil which highlights the trout eggs and the fresh broccio, the incredible ultra-soft brioche bread with tarama, dried bonito and salmon eggs up to the Smorrebrod with salmon gravlax, go for it, these are sure values.

On the flavors of Italy with Denny Imbrosi, we also have something to enjoy. Imagine a whole burrata from Puglia, served on a nest of crunchy cucumber, pickled red onions and a hint of caviar to spice up the burrata. Also on the menu are pasta of course: Rigatoni Casa Garafolo with Grana Padano sauce and grated Molise black truffle on top. And the ice Italian to personalize homemade toppings will certainly be a must this season.

We go there to discover the creations of Quentin Lechat for the Royal Monceau which offers a vanilla caviar to die for and a gluten-free chocolate square, creamy as you wish.

A lot of gluttony on the side of the Bristol with Pascal Hainigue who offers you his famous Paris-Brest Pistachio with the orange blossom that we love, a dessert hazelnut to die for and a variation of frosted gariguette strawberries to nitrogen.
